Get Involved in the Metro DC DSA!

DSA is the largest and fastest growing socialist organization in the United States. There’s a lot going on, and a lot to get done. We need all hands on deck to fight for social and economic justice and for a socialist future. Whether this is your first time becoming politically involved or you’re a veteran activist, there’s a place for you in the organization. Use the information below to stay in the loop on chapter news and events, and to get connected with other members on projects and initiatives. Here are your first steps to get started as a socialist organizer in the DMV.

Why You Should Join DSA / New Member Orientation

Every other Wednesday 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm

This biweekly event is a perfect first step if you’re thinking of joining or if you’ve just joined the chapter!

We’ll talk about what the Democratic Socialists of America is as a national organization, and then we’ll focus in on our local chapter here in the Metro DC region!

You’ll learn about our chapter’s democratic structure, our organizing campaigns, our regional branches in Northern Virginia and Maryland, and much more! Lots of time is left at the end of the presentation for you to ask any and all questions you have about us, how we organize, and how you can start getting involved!

RSVP for this event through our Calendar of Events

Join our Night School

The Socialist Night School is a series of sessions that explore basic ideas, concepts and historical events related to socialism. It is open to all but geared towards people that are newer to socialism and to DSA. Familiarity with socialist theory is not assumed. Sessions typically end with information about ways you can get involved in the chapter. Learn more about past events at the Socialist Night School website. Upcoming Night Schools can be found on our events page.
